Cedar Point Packages
From LoveToKnow Themeparks
Choosing Cedar Point packages is a great way to save money on a getaway to this roller coaster haven.
Package Benefits
The visitor packages offered by Cedar Point have great deals and fun options guests can try without needing a massive budget. Benefits of Cedar Point packages include:
- Savings: Most packages include significant discounts on park tickets, including deals for other attractions, merchandise, and dining.
- Speed: With seventeen roller coasters to sample, every minute may count when visiting Cedar Point, and individuals who purchase packages can pick up their park tickets when they check into the hotel instead of waiting in line.
- Resort Benefits: If guests choose a resort package deal, they get the same benefits as anyone else staying at the hotels at Cedar Point, such as exclusive ride times and other perks.
- Ease: Packages have all-inclusive elements that make planning a vacation easier because all the features are paid for at once instead of throughout the vacation. While amusement park packages do not include everything a family will need while they visit the park, the deals do offer more convenience than individual plans.
Types of Cedar Point Packages
There are two types of package deals visitors to Cedar Point can take advantage of: ticket packages and resort packages.
Ticket Packages
Ticket packages are combination deals that offer significant savings for guests willing to bundle their fun into one type of ticket. Cedar Point’s popular ticket package is the “Ride and Slide” pass, which includes admission to both the amusement park as well as the Soak City water park nearby. The park occasionally offers one day Ride and Slide passes, though the two-day combo is a better deal and offers hefty discounts. This two day package is the equivalent of buy-one-get-one-free tickets, and they can be used during any operating day of the park’s regular season.
Resort Packages
The most popular Cedar Point packages are the resort vacation deals. These packages combine multiple features for one low price, giving guests the best possible deal to stay where they play. The exact offers vary between the different hotels, but general features may include:
- Hotel accommodations, typically two or three nights
- Full day park tickets
- Evening park tickets
- Soak City tickets
- Coupons and discounts for park games, dining, and souvenirs
- Challenge Park offers for go kart rides, miniature golf, and other attractions
- Bonus money valid at the resort gift shops or select gift shops in the park
- Parking vouchers
Prices for the resort Cedar Point packages vary widely based on the exact hotel chosen as well as the dates. The smaller resorts – Breakers Express and Camper Village – are cheaper than the more modern, larger hotels. Less expensive packages are available in May and early June as well as late August and September when the park is less crowded and the operating hours are shorter. Halloweekends packages – in late September and October weekends – are also relatively inexpensive because Soak City is closed and only limited rides may be available. During the peak summer months in July and August, package rates are more expensive but can still represent significant savings for interested travelers.
Choosing Your Best Package
With several packages to choose from, budget savvy guests will select the best package for their needs – which may not always be the cheapest option. The very cheapest packages have fewer amenities such as extra tickets, which can be very helpful for families. On the other hand, larger package offers may have more features than visitors will use, and it does not make financial sense to pay for discounts and deals that won’t be useful.
To choose the best package, investigate the park thoroughly and decide which options are most important for your visit. If, for example, you do not enjoy water parks, then Soak City vouchers or discounts are relatively worthless for your getaway, but you might enjoy more evening amusement park tickets. While packages cannot be customized, it is possible to select a smaller package and add on tickets and other items during your stay.

Linda - You can contact Cedar Point directly for brochures, including package deals. Simply visit the website and look for the "Plan a Visit" link, and there are links to request brochures as well. Also be sure to check out the other Cedar Point articles here on LoveToKnow Theme Parks; they should be able to answer many of your questions, and I'd be happy to help out as well.
-- Contributed by: Melissa MayntzHello Could you please send me some Cedar Point brochures on summer vacation packages for all resorts. We live in Ontario and have kids ranging from 13 -18. Or do I have to contact Cedar Point directly? Thanks
-- Contributed by: Linda PeraSue - If you're interested in a cabin-style hotel, I'd recommend Lighthouse Point. It's one of the Cedar Point resorts and therefore offers guests the early admission into the park to ride selected rides before the main gates open. It's located right on the peninsula too, so you're needing to contend with traffic and such, plus you can go back to the cabin whenever you'd like.
Unfortunately, Cedar Point does not offer specialized admission for medical concerns, but you can go to the Park Operations office (located in Kiddieland on the Main Midway - the entrance is next to the giant giraffe) for a special access pass. They will be able to tell you what rides Erik can and can't go on. The way the pass works is that you will present it to a ride operator by going through the exit, and they will let you know how long the wait is. You can then wait more comfortably than struggling through the narrow, winding lines. When the time is up, you'll be accommodated on the ride with Erik. Please note that you cannot "stack" times by going around to all different rides to collect wait times that overlap, but this is a way for you to be able to participate more comfortably.
Enjoy your visit!
