Disney World Rides
From LoveToKnow Themeparks
Disney World rides are a perfect example of the pure and highly creative entertainment that makes up the Walt Disney Company. While the corporation as a whole has come under fire for various reasons, the theme parks remain wholesome and entertaining for the whole family. Below are some of the best rides and attractions featured in the Magic Kingdom and its sister parks in Florida.
The Magic Kingdom
Many of the Disney World rides found in Orlando are almost carbon copies of those found in the original Disney theme park – Disneyland – in California. From It’s a Small World to Dumbo the Flying Elephant, children will especially love the west coast imports that have been charming Florida crowds for generations. Disney World is also home to plenty of innovation, with amusements not found anywhere else.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
This ride is found in Tomorrowland and features all of Toy Story’s favorite characters. Guests will feel as if they stepped inside a video game as they are invited to zap Emperor Zurg and his accomplices, able to spin their car around in two directions to shoot and score extra points. Both kids and adults adore the Space Ranger Spin, and it’s as addicting as a real video game.
The Haunted Mansion
A vintage hit of Disney World, the Haunted Mansion is a humorous version of a typical amusement park haunted house. With plenty of hitchhiking ghosts to see and experience, families will get plenty of chills and thrills out of this great attraction that has been charming guests in Liberty Square for decades.
The Enchanted Tiki Room
The Enchanted Tiki Room in Disney World has been revamped by Iago and Zazu, known from the movies Aladdin and The Lion King respectively. The original Tiki Room was one of Walt Disney’s first forays into the now famous workings of audio animatronics, and the Florida version holds plenty of updates and modern humor for every guest who enters through its doors. You’ll find the Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland.
Disney World Rides in Other Parks
Outside of the Magic Kingdom, guests can enjoy a wide array of park experiences.
Epcot
Epcot Center is half futuristic, half a celebration of multiculturalism as guests explore various country mock ups in the World Showcase, as well as exhilarating science-based attractions in Future World. When visiting Epcot, be sure to take a turn on Mission: SPACE, which throws you into the role of an astronaut on your first mission. It features strong G-forces and plenty of other authentic space adventurer experiences perfect for anyone looking for a big thrill.
The Test Track, designed by GM motors, lets you play the role of a crash dummy as you climb into a car going through its various safety tests. It’s fast and fun, with brake checks, maximum speed limits, and tests against the elements.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Formerly known as Disney MGM, this movie studio-themed park will be sure to bring a smile to your face. Try out the Rock n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith, or the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, where you’ll board a spooky elevator and freefall 13 stories.
Animal Kingdom
Part zoo, part thrill rides, Animal Kingdom is a perfect destination for young animal lovers to explore. Here you will find the Kilimanjaro Safaris, where you will be able to view and discover real animals as you go through a mock Africa exhibit, authentic down to its safari trucks and plant life. You’ll also want to check out Expedition Everest and the Primeval Whirl roller coaster if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush.
Blizzard Beach
Outside of these main parks, Disney World rides are found in two unique water parks, including Blizzard Beach, which is ski resort themed in the middle of tropical Florida. Take a splash down the Toboggan Racers, where up to 8 friends or family members can race each other.
Typhoon Lagoon
The original Disney water park, Typhoon Lagoon is more family friendly with traditional waterslides, a wave pool, and outstanding kids’ area. Try Gang Plank Falls, which is rated on the Disney World website as providing “mild but wild thrills.” You’ll find it at Mount Mayday.
No matter which park you visit or where you spend your time, Disney World rides are an enjoyable and one-of-a-kind experience, wherever you decide to let your imagination take you!
