Do Free Disney World Tickets Exist?

Just about nothing in life comes free, and this includes Disney theme park tickets. There are, however, some ways to legitimately acquire free tickets.

• Win a radio contest. Free Disney World Tickets are sometimes given away in radio contests. This is especially true if you live in central Florida or in the southeastern states. Listen to a variety of stations to hear when they are giving away free tickets, or visit their websites to find out about promotions.
• Listen to a sales presentation. Some companies, especially for vacation properties, may offer free tickets if you agree to listen to their sales pitch. If you agree to stay for the entire presentation and be subjected to a possible high pressure sales environment, you will receive free tickets if that is what they are offering. Keep in mind that the tickets may have restrictions for use (blackout dates, etc.) and you’ll never get back the time you spend listening to the sales pitch.
• Workplace reward. Some companies give away free merchandise as rewards for employees’ hard work or as part of a giveaway at corporate events. Companies in Florida may give away free tickets to Disney parks and other local attractions. If your company isn’t currently offering free tickets, speak with the human resources department to see if you can request Disney tickets in the next drawing.
• Receive tickets as a gift. It is always possible to get free tickets as a gift for Christmas, your birthday, or other occasion. Let your friends and family know that Disney World tickets are what you really want to receive.
• Work for the tickets. While not completely free, receiving tickets as payment for your work means you don’t have to buy the tickets yourself. Disney World employees receive free admission to the major parks as part of their employee benefits.

Free Ticket Scams

Since many people would like to have free (or nearly free) Disney World tickets, there are scammers out there looking to take advantage of this demand.

• Multi-day pass scam. You may see unused multi-day passes for sale online, or you might even be approached at the park by someone offering to sell you the passes. It may seem like a good deal, but be aware. It is illegal to do this. The fine print on the ticket says that the ticket is non-transferable. In addition, you have no way of knowing how many days are left on the ticket. You won’t know if you can get into the park until you have already bought the tickets and the sales person is long gone.
• Counterfeit tickets. Some unscrupulous individuals may also offer counterfeit tickets at drastically cheap prices. If an offer seems too good to be true and the seller is unwilling to answer detailed questions or to offer guarantees about their merchandise, avoid the temptation to save money on what may be a scam.

Good Ticket Deals

One way to get the equivalent of free tickets is to buy a pass that offers several days free. Often if you buy a 3-day pass, you get two additional days free. If you plan to visit the park four or more days, then this deal is worthwhile.

Another good deal is to buy season passes. This is especially good for people who live near Orlando or who plan to take an extended getaway to the Disney area. After visiting the park a few times, the pass pays for itself and you begin going to Disney World for the equivalent of no cost.

There may be no free Disney World tickets available for most park guests, but there are ways to save money that may make tickets seem almost free in comparison.
