Tennessee Indoor Water Park Options

There are three large indoor water parks in Tennessee. Smaller hotels may also offer limited water park attractions to their guests, but the larger resorts have the greatest variety of aquatastic fun.

The Wild WaterDome

Part of the Wilderness at the Smokies resort in Sevierville, the Wild WaterDome indoor water park is the largest in eastern Tennessee. The 60,000 square foot park features a see-through roof so guests can tan all year round without worrying about the weather, but in rain and shine the water park's attractions are fun for the whole family. The park's main attractions include:

  • Runaway Canyon: This family raft slide features water curtains, lengthy tunnels, and a 60 foot drop for exciting thrills.
  • The Smokies Surf Rider: This surfing simulator is a great way to combine surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding for one wet and wild ride. Lessons are also available.
  • Washout Mountain: A fun play area, Washout Mountain has small slides, fountains, water cannons, and a gigantic tipping bucket to create a great play area for younger guests.

In addition to these main attractions, the Wild WaterDome also has a funnel-style slide, a 10,000 square foot wave pool, tube slides, a children's play area and activity pool, and an indoor/outdoor hot tub for adults to enjoy. As if these attractions aren't enough, guests can also visit the resort's two outdoor water parks during the summer for even more splashes. Guests who would rather stay dry can enjoy the retail shops, arcades, fine dining, golf, fitness centers, and other attractions that make this one of the finest resort destinations in Tennessee.

The Wild WaterDome is only open to resort guests, and admission is included in the rate of the rooms.

Wild Bear Falls Water Park

The Wild Bear Falls Water Park is part of the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is one of the largest indoor water parks Tennessee has to offer, and it is the fifth largest in the country with more than 60,000 square feet of splashtastic fun using 300,000 gallons of water every day. The park features a retractable roof to take advantage of sunny days, and the main features of the Wild Bear Falls Water Park include:

  • Wild Bear Falls: This namesake treehouse is a fun play area for all ages with fountains, waterfalls, small slides, and other interactive water features, including a 300 gallon tipping bucket that refills every few minutes
  • Clingman's Dome: This tube slide slips and slides for hundreds of feet for a wet and wild ride.
  • Laurel Falls: This enclosed body slide is a darkly delicious thrill ride with sharp turns and quick dips to keep riders guessing.
  • Moonshine Hollow: Adults will appreciate this secluded indoor/outdoor hot tub large enough for many guests to enjoy.

Younger guests will love the zero entry pool, toddler play area, and other mild attractions in this park, including the 900 foot lazy river, while visitors who wish to stay out of the water can enjoy the mezzanine restaurant and other attractions.

You don't need a mountain stream to enjoy watery fun!

Wild Bear Falls Water Park is open to the public, though hours can vary. Admission is $19 for a single day, and discounted rates are available for 3- and 5-day passes. Children under the age of 3 are admitted free.
