Knotts Soak City
From LoveToKnow Themeparks
Knotts Soak City is a group of water theme parks in California associated with Knott’s Berry Farm Theme Park. All three locations are owned by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company.
Soak City Water Park Features
Although there are a few variations between different park locations, all three Knotts Soak City water parks have these popular attractions that the entire family can experience together.
Cabana Rentals
Families can rent their own cabana with lounge chairs, tables, and private food service for prices ranging from $90-$155, depending on the size of the cabana and the day of the week. It is recommended that you reserve your cabana online before you go to the park. You can make a reservation through the Soak City website as long as it is at least 24 hours in advance.
Balboa Bay
Balboa Bay, otherwise known as the wave pool, is the largest attraction in the park. It requires 750,000 gallons of water to fill and is open to everyone. Children under 48" must wear a life preserver and be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Sunset River
For those people that just want to float aimlessly for part of the day, Sunset River offers a circular, artificial river to swim in that is nearly a half mile long. Once again, everyone is allowed in the water, as long as small children are wearing a life preserver and have an adult nearby.
Slides
Each Soak City location has a wide variety of water slides to choose from, including inner tube slides, body and speed slides, and family slides for multi-person rafts. The exact slides at each park vary and interested guests should investigate each park to decide which slides they’d prefer to enjoy.
Having Fun Without the Water at Soak City
If you get sick of the water, Soak City still has plenty of attractions to keep you occupied. Restaurants, including one that serves Mrs. Knott's famous fried chicken, are numerous. There is also a shop, WipeOut! Surf Shop, that sell souvenirs and clothing items, as well as a small candy store that offers a wide variety of treats.
Visiting Knotts Soak City
If you'd like to visit a Soak City location, planning ahead will help you start your vacation on the right note. To get a feel for the park before you visit, you may want to look at the animated theme park map on the Knott's website to ensure that your theme park getaway is an problem-free as possible.
Tickets
Adult ticket prices are $30 per day. Children 11 years old and younger as well as senior citizens are eligible for a discounted ticket price of $19. Other discounts are given if you print out your ticket at home or are a resident of California. Season pass tickets are also available. Season passes allow entry into all three Soak City parks and the savings can add up fast. For an extra fee, you can also get a pass that will also act as an admission pass for Knott's Berry Farm.
Lodging
Guests who wish to stay near to the park can reserve a room at Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel. It has been the official hotel for both Knott's Berry Farm and Soak City since 2004. The hotel often runs promotions to encourage ticket holders to stay at their hotel, and amenities include wireless internet, a heated outdoor pool and spa, and lighted tennis and basketball courts.
