Silverwood Amusement Park Rides

Coaster Alley

In the Coaster Alley section of the park, you’ll find two wooden coasters along with the Panic Plunge ride.

  • Tremors. This coaster was built in 1999 by Custom Coasters International. The max speed is 60 miles per hour, the maximum height is 100 feet, and the ride is 3,000 feet long. The ride lasts for one minute, forty seconds. These statistics don’t sound too exciting, but numbers don’t tell the whole story. What you’ll find on this ride is that you go underground four times, adding pitch black excitement to the ride experience.
  • Timber Terror. This was Silverwood’s first big coaster, built in 1996. Like Tremors, it’s statistically average. The height is only 85 feet and the maximum speed is 55 miles per hour. Designed with an out and back layout, the ride is known for its fast pace and plenty of negative forces. The ride is beautiful to look at and surprisingly fun to ride.
  • Panic Plunge. One of the newest thrill rides at the park, it was built in 2006. The drop length is 120 feet and the speed is 47 miles per hour. You are unable to see when you reach the top, and the drop is sudden and swift. There is no bounce, and you are actually being pulled down quicker than gravity can do by itself.

Boulder Beach

This area of the park has many water rides to keep you cool. The low humidity will help you dry off quickly when you are finished. Some of the rides in this area include:

  • Avalanche Mountain. Built in 2007, you’ll get into a large raft and slide down 650 feet.
  • Velocity Peak. Try not to lose your swimsuit as you plunge down the slide at 55 miles per hour.
  • Elkhorn Creek. Mellow-out while you float down the lazy river.

Country Carnival

Still under construction, the park has two more great rides in this section.

  • Thunder Canyon. Take a seat in the raft and float down the river. Go over the rapids and get completely soaked by the time you reach the end. Only ride this one when it’s warm outside.
  • Corkscrew. If you remember riding this coaster back in the 1980s at Knott’s Berry Farm—that’s because you did. Silverwood bought this ride and had it installed in 1990. For history buffs, come see the ride that inspired many of today’s roller coasters.

Shows

When you are ready to relax and enjoy some entertainment, Silverwood Amusement Park has two types of shows that you are sure to enjoy.

  • Magic Shows. Johnny Magic! performs his tricks and stunts.
  • Ice Shows. You may want to schedule your visit for when the professional skaters are in town.

For Kids

Long before the thrill rides appeared, Silverwood had rides for the young ones. Some of the rides include:

  • Garfield’s Summer Camp. This large play area has a small roller coaster, a tree fort and a sandbox.
  • Polliwog Park. Little kids like to get wet too, and here is where they can play in the water until they are soaked through and through.
  • Steam Engine Train. Take a train ride through part of the park.

Dining

While you’ll find traditional theme park food such as ice cream, cheeseburgers, hot dogs and fries, Silverwood also has some other unique culinary items:

  • Lindy’s Restaurant. It is a full-featured restaurant featuring American cuisine.
  • High Moon Saloon. You won’t find any suds at this place, but you can get a nice sandwich.
  • Theatre of Illusion. Enjoy Italian cuisine along with staples such as pretzels and nachos.
  • Wok in the Park. If you’re craving some noodles and rice, this is the place to eat.

Tickets

A one day general admission pass is $37 for adults and $20 for kids ages 3 to 7 and adults over 65. A two-day ticket, which must be used on consecutive days, goes for $59 and $32, respectively.

The park has a fairly short season due to the northern location. Silverwood is open on weekends starting in May, and closes the last weekend in October. The park is open seven days a week starting the last week of May.
