Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park Tickets
From LoveToKnow Themeparks
There are many different types of Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park tickets, allowing prospective guests to choose the perfect admission for their visit to this southern California amusement park.
About Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags is well known for its thrilling rides and attractions, and Six Flags Magic Mountain is the company’s flagship park. Located in Los Angeles, the park first opened in 1971 and today is home to 15 world class roller coasters, including:
- Tatsu: The longest flying roller coaster in the world, where riders are flipped onto their stomachs to perform intricate aerobatics.
- X: An innovative “4-D” coaster that rotates riders in multiple directions at once, creating “x”treme disorientation. In 2008, the ride was redesigned as X2 for even more thrills.
- Superman the Escape: A launched roller coaster that was the first in the world to ascend at a 90 degree angle and still delivers faster-than-a-speeding-bullet thrills.
- Batman the Ride: One of the earliest inverted roller coasters – only the sixth one ever built – this stunning ride helped pioneer an innovative design that now has more than 100 models around the world.
Just a few miles from Hollywood, it is no surprise that so many rides at this famous park are themed after celebrities, but it doesn’t take celebrity status to secure admission tickets.
Types of Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park Tickets
Just as no two roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain are exactly the same, no two admission ticket deals are precisely the same. Before purchasing tickets, guests should carefully compare benefits and restrictions to be sure they are choosing the best option for their Six Flags getaway.
General Admission
General admission tickets are valid on a single day, though private events may be excluded. Regular admission is $60 per person, but guests can take advantage of online discounts and print tickets at home for deep discounts. Tickets for children under 48 inches tall (which will restrict them from riding the most intense roller coasters) are $30. Advance parking can be purchased online for $15. Group discounts are available for general admission tickets, and Six Flags Magic Mountain is very willing to work with different types of groups to find them the best rate.
Season Passes
Guests who plan to visit the park for several days, whether scattered throughout the year or just for an extended vacation, can find the best deal with a season pass. There are three levels of season passes, each with their own privileges:
- Regular season passes are $70 each and include a passholder coupon book that offers a range of deals, including free tickets for friends during promotional periods.
- Xtreme Play passes are specialized V.I.P. season passes and include not only admission, but free parking, one free Flash Pass per visit, and more discounts. Only a limited number of Xtreme Play passes are available to ensure their exclusivity, and they cost $125 each.
V.I.P. Tours
Guests interested in even more special privileges may want to opt for V.I.P. tour Six Flags Magic Mountain tickets. The $300 cost may seem outrageous, but it includes numerous benefits, such as parking, front of line access to certain rides, complimentary snacks and other refreshments, reserved seating for popular shows, and exclusive souvenirs. A minimum of four guests is required for each tour and reservations must be made in advance so a guide can arrange a customized park experience for the V.I.P's.
Flash Pass
The Flash Pass is Six Flag Magic Mountain’s pay-for-the-privilege exclusive front of line ride access. When added to general admission, guests using a Flash Pass have four V.I.P. ride opportunities they can arrange however they wish. One person could use all four on different participating rides, or two people could each go on two rides, or a group of four could enjoy exclusive access once to their favorite ride. Flash Passes cost $20 on weekdays and $25 on weekends and holidays, and only a limited number are available to keep them effective.
Thrill Pass
For the ultimate Six Flags experience, guests can try the Thrill Pass for $80 in addition to regular admission prices. This includes the Flash Pass, access to an all you can eat buffet during the entire day (restrictions may apply), souvenir photos, reserved show seating, and other discounts and amenities.
Resolving Ticket Problems
Even the most well prepared guests may experience problems with their Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park tickets. If there are problems printing or purchasing tickets online, guests are encouraged to call the park’s Guest Relations department at (661) 255-4103. Expired but unused tickets can be redeemed for half off a regular admission ticket for the current season, but guests must make that special purchase at the Guest Relations office and no other discounts can be applied to this offer.
Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park tickets are the necessary key to a fabulous amusement park getaway in this roller coaster haven, but guests should be aware of the different types of tickets and what they do and do not include. There are no refunds or rainchecks offered for misused tickets, and savvy visitors will opt for a ticket that can give them the fun experience they are hoping to have.
