Wild Adventures Theme Park
From LoveToKnow Themeparks
Wild Adventures theme park in southern Georgia is more than just an amusement park – it blends regular concerts, thrilling rides, and hundreds of exotic animals into a great family destination.
Wild Adventures Attractions
Most amusement parks rely on one strong base to attract guests: Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio, for example, offers some of the world’s best roller coasters, while different Disney parks are a literal fantasy land for Disney fans because of their intricate decorations and connection to the Disney name. Wild Adventures, however, has equally enjoyable rides, animal displays, and entertainment to give guests a well-rounded, family adventure.
Rides
The park’s rides are its most immediately visible attractions, and Wild Adventures has a wide range of thrilling choices, with more than 55 rides - from exciting roller coasters to fun family rides to quirky kiddie rides. Some of the guests’ favorite rides are:
- Ant Farm Express: A colorful family roller coaster with more than just a simple oval – dips and twirls make it exciting for both novice and experienced riders.
- Double Shot: A thrilling vertical shot ride that blasts riders straight up - not once, but twice.
- Cheetah: A twisting wooden roller coaster that wraps around its own structure with the speed of the world’s fastest cat.
- Hangman: A fun inverted roller coaster with rapid-fire flips and loops in the park’s western-themed area.
- Tasmanian River Rapids: An innovative white water rafting ride with a unique whirlpool finale.
- Pharaoh’s Fury: A classic swinging ship amusement ride with an Egyptian theme.
- Blackfoot Falls: A dramatic flume boat ride with a tremendous plunge – not only do riders get soaked, but so do spectators who dare to cross the precariously placed bridge.
Other popular rides include smaller roller coasters for younger riders, a Ferris wheel offering great park views, and several classic amusement park rides that will bring back nostalgic remembrances for experienced riders and create fun memories for new riders.
Animals
Guests who want less fast-paced thrills can enjoy the more than 500 animal residents of Wild Adventures theme park, representing more than 80 animal and bird species. Animals are comfortably housed in replicated natural habitats that guests can get up close and personal with through a peaceful series of boardwalks or the Safari Train. Bison, raccoons, kangaroos, sloths, lemurs, giraffes, black bears, camels, Bengal tigers, several monkey species, yaks, and elk are only a few of the mammals that call Wild Adventures home. Bird species include colorful parrots, macaws, and parakeets, while reptiles in the snake house include pythons and boa constrictors, scorpions, iguanas, tarantulas, geckos, and more.
Entertainment
After exploring the animal habitats and enjoying the park’s assortment of thrill rides, guests can sit down for fun, family-friendly entertainment. Most shows focus on comedy routines that are appropriate for all ages, while others incorporate music, magic, and even some of the park’s animal residents. Keeper talks are also periodically held at the animal habitats so guests can get to know the animals personally.
In addition to standard amusement park shows, Wild Adventures theme park is also home to outrageous concerts throughout their season. Park tickets include free admission to the evening concerts, and the park hosts some surprisingly popular acts for a relatively unknown venue. Featured artists have included Montgomery Gentry, Weird Al Yankovic, Hootie & the Blowfish, Lonestar, and the Beach Boys. Reserved seating does cost extra.
Food
With so many fun attractions to visit, guests can quickly work up an appetite. Six indoor, temperature controlled restaurants offer everything from simple pizza and burgers to hot wings, barbeque meals, and sweet treats such as ice cream, doughnuts, and other amusement park eats. Outdoor stands are also located throughout the park, and guests are welcome to bring their own picnics to enjoy in the picnic area located just outside the park’s entrance (no outside food is permitted inside the park).
Visiting Wild Adventures Theme Park
Planning a visit to Wild Adventures is not difficult. The park is located off Interstate 75 at exit 13 near the Florida border, halfway between Atlanta and Orlando.

Comments
Teresa - Season passes are only valid through December 31, 2008, and there is no pro-rated price for when you purchase them, though prices may be discounted later in the season or other promotions could be offered. The price of a season pass is equal to two regular admission tickets, so if you visit the park more than twice you're getting substantial savings. The season pass includes all concerts, just as a regular admission ticket includes the free concerts. Tickets to include Cypress Gardens (owned by the same company) will cost more.
