This is a very interesting discussion. I like Disney, but I also like it cheap. That is why my friends jokingly call me "Mr. Cheap Disney". :) Anyway, one thing to definitely watch out for is ticket scams. They have been written up in the Orlando Sentinel many times. I only purchase tickets themselves from authorized resellers or AAA.

Catlin - The park may require field trip paperwork through the school, so falsifying your reasons for going is not a wise idea. If the group is larger, however, you may qualify for a discounted group rate. I'd recommend checking out some of the resources above and comparing it to the regular admission rates and group rates to see what will be the best deal for your budget.

I will be traveling to Disney World with two of my daughters and several of their friends. I am a teacher so i was wondering if there was a way I could get cheaper tickets by calling it a field trip? Or if i could get them cheaper because I will have a large group?
